DIABETIC RETINOPATHY
Diabetic retinopathy is a condition that occurs due to damage to the blood vessels of the retina in people suffering from diabetes. If you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, and a long history of uncontrolled blood sugar levels, you might develop diabetic retinopathy.

Diagnosis
Eye exam
Diabetic retinopathy can be diagnosed using a dilated eye exam. This also involves the use of eye drops that can make the pupils open wide, and allows the doctor to get a good look at the inside of your eye. Your doctor is going to check for:
