- Dr. Jalali established the TMH Neuro-Oncology group. It is regarded as India’s best such unit and is well-known around the world.
- In 2008, he was a driving force behind the formation of the Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology (ISNO). He was the organization’s founding general secretary, then President, and presently serves as the chair of its senior advisory council.

- He completed his MD in Radiation and Oncology in 1994 from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. He passed with Distinction and was awarded “Merit of First Order”.
