Delhi Health Minister’s statement comes on the same day when the Union Health Ministry released data on Omicron cases showing out of country’s total of 781 cases, Delhi tops the list, with a cumulative 238 cases.

With an “immediate effect” the new restrictions under a “yellow alert” will come into force in Delhi from today amid a surge in Covid cases on the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

India saw a sharp rise in Omicron conditions as the number of cases rose to 578 within the country. The highly contagious variant has now been detected in 19 states with Delhi and Maharashtra in the master schemes adopted by Kerala.
